Hi there, thanks for stopping by!
I am Amanda Areias, a photographer who first started as a cook – or perhaps, an eater – and Give Me Flour is my platform for all things food related.
I heart Chicago, where I live, as much as I heart my homeland Brazil and “Mineiro” cuisine, the food I was raised with. I heart the world of food, the way it brings people together and the way it forges different cultures.

For questions and professional contact, you can find me here:
1. Why “Give me flour”?
Because flour is simply the most fascinating ingredient in the kitchen; flour gives you fresh bread, it can thick a sauce, make pasta or seal a meat too!!!
2. Who cooks/style/photograph the dishes?
Me. I cook, style and photograph each recipe you see here, unless it is specified.
3. Are these your recipes?
Some of the recipes are mine and some are adapted from books and magazines I love and admire – with the creators of the recipe been always identified in each post.
4. Can I use your photos?
Maybe. The entire contents of this site are protected by copyright. Please do not use anything without my permission. Please ask first.
